NYCHEA Members Welcome the New School Year!

We have had a VERY busy start to the school year. Take a look at what we've been up to.

September

We kicked off the year with our Annual Not Back to School Picnic and Book Exchange where old and new friends gathered on the Great Hill for a wonderful day of fun, fresh air, and free curriculum exchange! Thanks to members, Aiden and Yuko, we immortalized the event with some amazing photos. Yuko took portraits of children and families and Aden captured action shots throughout the day. For the first year ever, we were able to offer Not Back to School photos to all members, for free :-).

October

October was an exciting month as we wished a fond farewell to Afua Brown and welcomed Carolina Brinkman to the NYCHEA Council. Carolina and her family have been active members of NYCHEA for years and have helped organize many of our events including History Fairs and the October Meeting. Carolina and Shanah coordinated a Halloween/Fall-themed pumpkin-carving meeting for members. We had so much fun, we forgot to take pictures, so if you have some, please share!

November

All were invited to our first Paint & Sip Conference hosted by Conference Coordinator, Lyn, master painter Jason Robert Bell, his wife Marni Kotak, and their son Ajax.

We welcomed families from outside of our homeschool community to join us for an evening of abstract painting and fun in Queens!
